ATTORNEY ANDREW BAROVICK HELPING TO END HUNGER LOCALLY
Alegria & Barovick LLP recently announced Attorney Barovick Law, a founding partner, will be volunteering at Hillside Food Outreach on July 8. “This is the second time I will be volunteering with this food pantry because I was impressed with how well they executed their mission, which is to provide food assistance to families with children, the frail and elderly, disabled and housebound individuals,” said Barovick. “I will be packing up bags of groceries with other volunteers, and the following morning a second group of volunteers will deliver the bags that we packed to the families in need, many of them either homebound or without transportation.”
Hillside Food Outreach, one of the food pantries connected with Volunteer New York, is a grassroots nonprofit established in 1993 to help feed 20 elderly people in Westchester County who were in need of food assistance, but were unable to access local food pantries. Today, Hillside has brought together more than 350 volunteers to home deliver to over 2,000 Westchester and Putnam County, NY, and Connecticut residents in need, and continues to grow every day.
“I attended a team leader training event earlier this year at Volunteer New York for volunteers like myself who focus their efforts on ending hunger locally,” said Barovick. “Hillside Food Outreach is an organization that does a lot of good for the less fortunate.”
