Successes
Family Court – Change of Custody – Father’s Rights
Client believed that the child’s mother was not caring for the child adequately. After a court hearing we were successful in obtaining custody for our client with supervised visitation for the mother.
Family Court – Parenting Time – Father’s Rights
Client’s former spouse was not permitting him to have parenting time with the parties’ child and was further not permitting him to travel out of state with the child. We were able to secure parenting time for our client as well as out of state travel with the child.
Family Court – Parenting Time – Father’s Rights
Client had not seen his children in over one year based on false allegations made by his children’s mother. His prior attorney, the attorney for the children, and the judge all told him that he would never see his children again. We investigated the matter and presented proof to the court that the allegations made by the mother were false. Our client was able to see his children and rebuild his relationship with them.
Post-Divorce – Child Support Arrears – Family Court
Client’s former spouse was behind in child support payments. Former spouse refused to pay despite multiple attempts by our client to resolve the matter outside of court. At trial, we were successful in obtaining an award to our client for all of the child support payments due.
Post-Divorce Relocation – Family Court
Client sought to relocate to another state with the parties’ two children, one of whom had special needs. The former spouse aggressively opposed our client’s request. After a number of court appearances, we were successful in obtaining the relocation order for our client who is now happily living in the new state with the children.
Family Court – Supervised Parenting Time for Parent With Substance Abuse Issues
Client’s former partner was abusing alcohol and drugs while with the parties’ children. We were successful in obtaining supervised parenting time and prohibiting the other parent from driving with the children.
Family Court – Supervised Parenting Time, and Prevention of Social Media Disparagement for Abusive Former Partner
Child’s other parent petitioned the court for parenting time. Our client felt that the other parent would not adequately care for the child, who was 2 years old at the time. The other parent also repeatedly posted disparaging statements about our client on social media. Although the other parent had not been abusive to the child, they were threatening and verbally abusive to our client. We were successful in obtaining an order of protection for our client, a court order that prohibited the other parent from posting about our client on social media as well as a court order for supervised parenting time with the child.
Post-Divorce Medical Care Dispute
Client’s former spouse brought a Petition, post-divorce, which requested that the parties’ custody agreement be modified to provide the former spouse with final say in medical decisions for the parties’ special needs child. We were successful in having the former spouse’s petition dismissed so that our client retained medical decision-making authority.
Family Court – Change of Custody – Father’s Rights
Client believed that the mother was physically and emotionally abusing their child. Child Protective Services investigated the case and determined that there was not any conclusive proof that child had been abused by the mother. At trial we were successful at proving physical and mental abuse of the child by mother. Our client was awarded sole custody of the child with limited parenting time to the mother.
Family Court – Mental Illness of One Parent
Child’s other parent filed a petition for custody. Our client had concerns that the other parent suffered from undiagnosed mental illness. At trial we were successful in proving that the other parent did, in fact, have mental illness and cognitive issues. Our client was granted sole custody with the other parent having supervised parenting time with child.
